We've had a rash of suicides. We've had a rash of bullying...people are trying to figure out why...well, here's my take on the whole thing. We have forgotten how to teach and show respect. period. I read today that a book was thrown at President Obama. I watch the political ads and am dismayed at the trash talk. I try and teach my son that even if he disagrees with someone, he still has to show them respect. How do we expect kids to respect someone different from them when they watch the adults slam every person they don't agree with. We have churches preaching intolerance. What do we expect our children to learn? Seriously? We want our kids to be wise, to be caring, to be loving..but only to people whose lifestyle, politics, or beliefs are in sync with ours. It's not right.
